Business

You can get a residence permit in the republic in case of conducting business in the territory of Bulgaria. A prerequisite is the creation of at least ten jobs for citizens (full employment).

Employment

Residents wishing to work in Bulgaria can apply for a residence permit if they have an official employment contract, which is issued after permission from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.

Work in the specialty

Foreigners representing a certain profession and having an international agreement, to which the Republic of Bulgaria is a party, receive a residence permit for the period specified in the agreement.

Marriage registration

A residence permit is granted to foreigners whose spouse is a Bulgarian citizen or arrives in the status of a permanent resident.

Having children in the country

The parents of a citizen of the state or a foreigner with permanent residence status may move to Bulgaria. However, a residence permit is issued if there is documentary evidence of family ties and registered insurance.

Medical treatment

If medical care involves staying in the country for more than three months, a residence permit must be issued. Foreigners need to prove sufficient financial security for the period of stay in the state.

Family reunification

Family members of a country resident can also apply for a residence permit or permanent residence. Spouses and financially dependent children under the age of 21 may apply for a residence permit.
